City Centre Airport Update
As
the future of the City Centre Airport is still being decided, the City of
Edmonton's proposed closure of the airport will not be initiated until after
2015. Having the one operational runway (12/30) still fully functional,
means that flight training has not missed a beat and will continue operating
as usual until then.
Women
In Aviation
The
Edmonton Flying Club is home to many female aviators, students and
instructors alike! Once a month, a group called "Women In Aviation" get
together to discuss all news and stories related to being a woman in the
aviation industry today. If anyone is interested, the group is open to all
who would like to join them! For more information contact Kristen Soroka @
780-454-1696.
In addition, a very interesting study was done to discover what women today
find to be the biggest challenges in the completion of their training or
careers. For more on the study, visit

ambition to pursue a career in aviation. The scholarships were created last
year by Matthew Kading with funding from the Edmonton Flying Club Foundation
