Every year the Edmonton Flying Club
prides itself in being able to offer at least $12,000 to students who complete
their training at the club. It is through the generous donations of
members and any excess funds we have left at the end of the year that enables us
to reward students who complete their flight training here. The following
scholarships are available:
Jack and Dorothy Melling Private Pilot License Scholarship
Every year we rank the top private
pilots. We combine the scores of both the private flight test and the
private written examination. From these score we determine the 3 highest
achieving students and reward them with:
1st Place

2nd Place
$1,500
3rd Place
$1,000
Jack and Dorothy Melling Commercial Pilot License Scholarship
Every year we rank the top commercial
pilots. We combine the scores of both the commercial flight test and the
commercial written examination. From these score we determine the 3
highest achieving students and reward them with:

Miscellaneous Scholarships
From time to time the Club will also
issue scholarships on a one time basis. This occurs if there is room in
the budget at the end of the year. These scholarships are given to
students who demonstrate a financial need, as we realize that flying is an
expensive venture and we wish to see everybody pursue their dream of flying.
